How Often Should You Update Your Computer?

This question has been thrown around for many years, and it really depends on you. How often you use you computer and what you expect out of it. Its a known fact no computer will work like its brand new 5 years down the line. Many people say you should upgrade your computer every 4-6 years, which is reasonable but maybe not if your use it for work etc...

If you run many application on your computer then the recommended time you should upgrade would be every 3 years due to older operating systems struggling to run the new updates for applications and software's.

If you are happy with the speed of your computer and your only problem is hard drive space then you should invest in a portable hard drive to copy over all your files. That way if you do decide to change you computer in the future you can just transfer them over.

Obvious breakages and water damage may make you want a new computer but if the warranty is still usable then use it! You won't have to spend a penny.

Is Tech Journalism A Thing Of The Past?

Since the mid ninety's, when the world wide web took off, millions of people set out to inform others about the latest and greatest technological innovations. Its obvious their were people doing this before the (www) but when it finally took off it became a platform for people all across the globe to share their knowledge.

These day's its even easier to share your knowledge, partly because of social media but also because their are billions of people each day logging on to the internet. So their is an audience, but its getting ever harder to
reach them. So why is this?

Starting out today to become an online technology content writer you will find it hard to build an audience and this is partly because your lack in understanding what your audience want to learn about and its down to the big boy's (The tech blogs which have been around for years and have millions of viewers). Although it does seem hard to make a break in the market, the are new opportunities for the new tech journalists out there. Here are a few solutions.

Be-friend other tech writers
Build a relationship with others who do the same thing as your online is a good way to mix with each others audiences. Frequently write articles for each other, if you are an online based writer. Another up side to having someone who does the same thing as you is that you can both share your knowledge.

Avoid writing what others already have
Of course your not going to know what every site online are writing about but try to avoid it. If you are going to, then you would have to give it a complete different title. You will never get new viewers if your titles of each article are the same as others online.

So i hope this has helped you if your are finding it hard to make a break. Be sure to subscribe to this blog and the monthly newsletter for exclusive tips on social media management and content producing.
